HT Energy has commenced execution of the first Chemical Cleaning package on the Block B CPP wellhead platform, marking the next stage in the pre-commissioning scope HT is delivering on the project.
Ahead of energizing the equipment, the field crew held a toolbox talk on site together with PTSC M&C and the client, covering job scope, line-specific hazards, PTW requirements, and individual responsibilities. This step is mandatory under HT’s safety procedure before any chemical cleaning activity on the platform.
The chemical pump skid was set up in a sheltered area, with a Chemical Spill Kit and isolation valves staged nearby. The diaphragm pump, holding tank, and process piping were connected per P&ID, maintaining a closed circulation loop throughout the cleaning operation.
Field engineers carried out a line check at every connection point, verifying pressure gauges and tightening fittings before introducing chemical into the system. Each connection point was marked off to confirm leak-free status before pressurizing.
The work area was barricaded and posted with warning signage, with flexible and rigid piping routed clear of walkways, in line with HT’s HSE standard for offshore project sites.
In parallel with the field work, HT Energy’s LAB team continued running sample tests, evaluating the cleaning solution’s effectiveness on actual pipe coupons pulled from the system, to inform concentration and soak-time adjustments for subsequent packages.
Combining LAB test data with field execution allows HT Energy to control chemical cleaning quality package by package, ensuring the pipeline meets cleanliness acceptance criteria before proceeding to the next pre-commissioning steps.
