SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF ONSHORE PRE-COMMISSIONING FOR 4″ & 8″ FLEXIBLE RISERS

Contractor HT has officially announced the successful completion of the Onshore Pre-commissioning scope for the 4″ and 8″ Flexible Riser systems, fully meeting all stringent technical standards and laying a solid foundation for upcoming offshore installation.

Ensuring Technical Integrity Onshore

During this phase, HT successfully executed the pigging operations via temporary PIG launcher and receiver setups. Both lines were completely flooded to full volume using fresh water (TDS = 104 ppm) treated with a 50 ppm fluorescein dye concentration for tracing and verification.

Following pigging and flooding, both flexible risers were packed at a stable internal pressure of 1 atm. Gauges at the highest point of the risers were recorded and sealed in strict accordance with the approved Flexible Riser Pre-commissioning Procedure and pre-installation technical requirements.

Proactive Risk Mitigation: Additional Technical Support

A key highlight of this campaign was HT’s proactive initiative to perform additional leak checks on the 4″ #600 and 8″ #600 pull head connections.

Recognizing that improper bolt torqueing on Class #600 pull heads could lead to costly leaks during subsequent offshore operations, HT provided full support by reinstalling the pull heads, applying precise torque values according to Class #600 specifications, and conducting an additional 15-minute leak test at hydrotest pressures:

  • 4″ Riser: Tested at P = 42atm

  • 8″ Riser: Tested at P = 84atm

This proactive measure effectively mitigated the risk of connection leaks, eliminating potential downtime and unbudgeted costs during the upcoming offshore hydrostatic test campaign.

Seamless Multi-Party Collaboration

The entire onshore scope was witnessed and accepted by Quality Control (QC) representatives from POS, the Company (PTSC AP), and the Client (MCB).

HT’s high level of technical competency and cooperative effort have been widely recognized, ensuring total operational safety and maintaining the project’s critical schedule.
